  1. Glad to hear LC will have a full time cop! I have no idea how any of this works so take it with a grain of salt but can't we get parents to donate to have a full time cop at every school? If the band boosters can get enough donations for a sectionals coach, I'm sure parents would pitch in to pay for cops. I'm considered on the "other side of the tracks" in this affluent area and even I could give $100 per each of my kids. And it wouldn't be a hit to the taxpayers who whine that they have to pay for stuff and they don't even have kids. Who knows how to go about that? Or if it's even possible?

  2. I sure wouldn't feel comfortable driving my kids over a bridge that was built without giving workers proper breaks or safety equipment. Can I bring you another Haterade so you can continue with your union bashing?

  3. Unless you run a rescue organization for former fighting dogs, you have zero business getting involved. These dogs were bred and raised to be vicious, only professionals like badrap.org has the know how to rehab them. Even then, of the 50 of Michael Vicks dogs to be rescued, one had to be euthanized because he was "too vicious." This is not a simple case of finding "forever homes" for sweet puppies. These dogs have tasted blood and will take a team of dedicated rehabbers to get them anywhere near adoptable, if ever.

  4. Personally, I think the whole article should be rerun so the school has something to hang and the kids can put it in their scrapbooks.

  5. Visited this in Vegas. Lamest hour of the whole trip. I'd recommend anyone wanting to go to this read the TripAdvisor, Ticketmaster or Yelp reviews for the flagship show first.

  6. I'd consider it less an "advertorial" and more of an interest piece based on the fact that 3500 of your neighbors work at the 2 plants that produce these cars. Employed, tax paying neighbors make for good neighbors, wouldn't you agree? Or are you of the "I can't have it so no one should" mindset.

And not for nothing but unless you make the purchasing decisions for your Police Department, the price per unit is irrelevent to you.

  8. I can't tell if I"m being trolled or you really are that dense. Listen, this is what I taught the kids and I'll teach YOU for the sake of my children being on these roads WITH you. If you are in your vehicle and someone flies up behind you, simply move over. You don't know whether this person is crazy, in a hurry or both. It won't kill you to be a decent person and move over. Should someone move onto the shoulder to be next to you, again, MOVE OVER. GET AWAY! If someone pulls to the right of you, move to the shoulder and stop. Should someone get in front of you and drive erratically, slow down in case he brake checks you and get out from behind him. NOTHING is worth taking a bullet for. Do you need a lesson in good touch/bad touch too? Can I teach you to tie your shoes? For farks sake, grow up and quit trying to argue. THE POINT IS TO REMOVE YOURSELF FROM DANGER BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY. If that means going from the far left lane, across 4 lanes of traffic to the next exit, do it. I guess the difference between me and you is that I'm not a victim. You'll cry with a bullet in your head that it was YOUR lane and YOUR right to be there. I'm going to have a helluva story about the manuevering I had to do to get away from a nut. Good luck with life.

  9. You're crazy if all you gleaned from my comment was that she deserved to be shot. According to the "other" paper, he pulled behind her (could've, should've moved), he rode the shoulder (could've, should've moved), moved to her right side (could've, should've moved), and then fired. This is a whole lot of craziness taking place in 60 seconds. Knowing how to drive defensively means knowing when and how to get out of a situation like this. Lastly, you know why he wouldn't have shot me? Because while I'm cruising along in the left lane, I check my rear view often enough that I can see a vehicle approaching and would've moved over before he was within 100 feet of me. I don't think you understand what the left lane is for. If you use it, you have to be conscious of who's approaching.

  10. Like most everyone, whenever I read a story like this, I imagine the scenario. What would I do? And would my outcome be different because I made a different choice? Clearly, road rage is never acceptable and firing a gun at a motorist...deplorable. However, the scenario goes, according the the article like this: You are riding in the left lane, a lane reserved for passers or speeders or if you're from the area, you know...crazy people, and a truck flies up behind you. Most people signal and move over but instead this driver continues for an entire mile, infuriating a crazy person. It doesn't matter if you are doing 55 in a 55. Or even say 70 in a 55. Whatever the case may be, when danger approaches, you don't hang around because " well, *I'm* not breaking the law." You don't stand your ground, you get the h3ll out of the way. I guess I'm just not very sympathetic for those who see danger and don't try to avoid it.
