For the ones who are bashing Chief Jerry Smith, you must not know him very well. If anyone or anything is threatening the safety of children or anyone in the matter, he will do anything in his power to keep them safe. If someone is threatening to shoot up somewhere, you don't assume that they are kidding. I have known Chief Smith his whole career on the Cedar Lake force and so has my family. He is a PERFECT Chief. Probably the best in the area. And for people who don't even know him even say he is a Great Chief for taking action immediately and securing the school to assure the SAFETY of all the kids and faculity at Jane Ball.
