- I think the problem with the Times is that they are pretty much the only newspaper of note covering NW Indiana. The Post never gave them much competition. That translates to the Times being as lazy as they want with no repercussions of anyone getting the scoop on them. If they miss a great late-breaking story, they'll pick it up later, no one will notice. As long as they own a monopoly on media in NW Indiana, they get to call the shots on how news is reported, when it's reported and which stories are reported.
