  1. Lake County missed out on a great opportunity yesterday... we finally had a chance to be represented as a whole community by someone worthy of the office and we blew it. The Region's insatiable need to keep the "machine" alive is what's killing us and we are clearly too narrow minded to see the forest through the trees. It's a shame we still don't have the guts to stand up for ourselves and embrace a genuine leader who wanted nothing more than to help us prosper. Instead, we reelect the bottom feeders and complain how our situation never improves. We had our chance... now we live with the consequences.

  2. BTW, jonind2... my favorite part about your fairy tale is where the Cinderella Reardon is out in the rain all alone packing her own sandbags while the evil Munster Republicans stand inactive. So where'd she get the sand and the bags? Did she bring them herself? Did she pay for them too?

Give it up... your story doesn't hold water.

  3. Where did you get this fairy tale? Reardon? As usual, Reardon paints herself as everyone's savior during the flood, but all she did was stop for her photo op while OTHER people packed sandbags and got their hands dirty... including OUR Town Council! How can you suggest that the Council was responsible for that flood, unless you're a complete fool? It was an unprecedented ACT OF GOD. Munster took a harder hit than Hammond only because the Munster bank sits lower than the Hammond side. Ask the Army Corps of Engineers... ask Hammond... ask Munster... ask anyone. My home sat on the river for 50 years before that flood, and the river had crested many, many times and NEVER took water. What happened in 2008 was a first in our lifetime. To listen and repeat this kind of gossip spun by Reardon and her ilk is just ignorant. Of course, if you're with Team Reardon, you'll do anything to deflect from the impotence of your candidate, won't you? But I suppose that stands to reason, since the Munster Council endorses Bill Fine. Listen up, Munster... OUR leaders would rather work with Fine. Why? It's obvious Reardon doesn't play well with others... or she just doesn't show up to play at all.

  4. I hope this disgusts every voter in the 12th district enough to do two simple things:
    1) VOTE FOR BILL FINE
    2) CANCEL YOUR SUBSCRIPTION TO THE TIMES
We need to send a message and what better way than to show Reardon and her endorsees that we deserve better than this! Reardon has had plenty of time to step up to the plate and the Times knows it. I'm offended that anyone would suggest that we should vote for that twit again just because there's a D next to her name. Do they think we're stupid? The people of the Munster, Highland, Griffith area aren't idiots.

  5. Free Market: It's obvious you didn't lose your home to the flood, or you'd know better. I remember EVERYONE who cared or tried to help us during that time. Reardon was NOT one of them. Officials from Hammond, Munster, North Township all pitched in to help us. When the Governor came up from Indy, I heard that our state rep was nowhere to be found. It was way AFTER FEMA (thanks to Helen Brown) got involved, that I heard Reardon's name again. One of the neighborhood homes seemed to get a lot more assistance than the rest of us. I'm told it is Reardon's brother. I guess it really does "pay" to be connected. Since then, I've made it my business to know who's who where the Little Cal is concerned. Repay and his crew are managing the river and it was Soliday - NOT REARDON - who got them their funding to finish the levees! Until you've been in our shoes and seen what we've seen, please don't try to sell me on what a "savior" Reardon is. It's an insult to all who lived through that nightmare, especially the good people that really did stick their necks out to help us.
