Niko, the father was already in jail for the same charges the mom was on the run for. Now they're in there together. Yay, one big happy family again.

The other day, a portage police officer offered me this. "Portage is like the coffee filter of porter county. It's here to collect all of the s*** that comes through." And I could not agree more. Portage should be annexed with south haven and lake station and just be called East Gary. This area has gotten worse and worse and it's utterly deplorable.
