  4. Okay, so a great kid. But aren't teachers supposed to be trained in CPR and basic first aid? Flanigan couldn't have handled this on her own? If the kid has no known medical conditions, there's not much to do beyond confirming an open airway and a beating heart, other than wait for paramedics. Because the paramedics are going to check blood pressure on their own anyways.

  5. J Bird - it's a no-kill shelter. I've been visiting a lot looking for a new dog for myself and I can tell you most of the animals have only been there for a couple of months. And the rescues like Lakeshore Paws come in and take the ones with good temperaments into foster homes.
