  1. I lived in CC up until 1986. As a teenager I remember walking to the mall to go shopping. I miss living in CC, everything was there and it was nice. I remember Ticketron at Sears too, that was a big hangout for potheads when tickets were on sale for certain concerts. We lived in the 500 block of 155th Place and in the late 70s my sister and I had two paper routes from the 100 - 500 blocks 154th to 156th Street and Place and another street I can't remember. Since I was older I went into the bars to collect, no problem. I don't think anyone would dare be in those areas now. I also remember when Lansing started going downhill.

    The most driving I will do now in CC now is down Burnham to my father-in-law's house. He refuses to move. He's had his door kicked in and now has bars on the doors and rear windows. I can't believe people have live like that. I pray RO doesn't completely close so the trash has somewhere to hang out. Southlake is a little iffy now and I'm hoping it doesn't get worse. How much further into Indiana do I have to move now?

    My husband went to a fast food place on Burnham a few years ago. There were some young people there acting like animals. One of the young men demanded a quarter from my husband and actually threatened him (my husband has a white beard and mustache so he's obviously an adult-my point being is this punk threatened an adult). Of course my husband stood his ground but for something like that to happen is maddening.

  3. I used to live in Alpine many years ago. Modular homes burn MUCH faster and sustain more damage than a regular home.

  4. I was molested (once) by my mom's boyfriend when I was a kid. I didn't tell her right away so how was she to know. When I did tell her she went and busted the guy's head open and threatened him. My mother was a good parent and it would have been devastating for all of us to get taken away. She took care of the problem.
