I abhor the fact that public dollars are being funneled to private schools. I wonder if you are against other forms of welfare but think this is just the greatest.
Also, if Lowell is like other Indiana public schools, the athletic department raises their funds privately for such disbursement. Unless the school board approved such a purchase from their capital projects funds, the only person you should be mad at is your band booster program.
Programs are not cheap to support, but it takes effort and diligence to pay for what is needed and/or desired.
Additionally, being able to understand how people learn is also important. I have had plenty of professors who knew their content, but had no idea how to teach. So the "adjunct" policy even at the college level isn't the best idea.
Charge $100 per credit hour and have the state live up to its obligation for funding and this won't be an issue.
