- Does anyone remember all the jobs he gave to people ? The money he spent on Marktown, paying teenagers to paint buildings. Dan may not be perfect, but in reality he has contributed more money and time than anyone else, that is not on the city's payroll. He has given his all to East Chicago. If it was business, or pleasure, he made sure it was in East Chicago. What other boss would let a secretary have a playpen and let their baby come to work with them a few days a week in the 80s!? He would lend out his car to the Puerto Rican and Mexican parades. His mother, father and grandparents were all residents of East Chicago, he has family history and memories there. What purpose does it serve to have his place burned down ?! There was other people using it. He has never done anything to hurt people only help. If he started the tire fire, why would he have stayed in EC this long.? He had made his office (in East Chicago) home. East Chicago people need to stop complaining about a man that has helped and donated to schools, community, various fund raisers, team sports, and just giving a man a job to help him help himself. He gave jobs to some of the hardest workers (labors) that didn't have an education, those jobs gave them experience to move onto bigger jobs. An opportunity that wouldn't have happened on its own ! - I love how people always compare people who work in retail complaints about working on Thanksgiving to "police work, doctors work" Guess what they make a heck of a lot more money and they have jobs that are LIFE Saving. Since when is it a life saving, people protecting moment to go shopping on Thanksgiving?! The Police have to protect people on ThanksGiving and Black Friday from hurting each other over the " OH MY Goodness that is the LAST TOY on Earth and its SOOOO Popular I HAVE to HAVE it!" So there is more work for them too, and for the hospitals on Thanksgiving since people don't know how to act shopping. The Deals on Black Friday used to be better and the stores would open at 4 to 5 am with Best Buy and then Toys R Us being the midnight openers. It gave everyone a chance to be with there families and not rush the meal.

- I love how the Grandparents get blamed. Really love it how its so easy to blame someone other than Crystal! The grandparents only was able to be around the kids when their parents were here and the diaper rash wasn't that bad with them. 2 weeks in a carseat not being changed can do that. Oh and when she left their house it was with 2 BIG cases of diapers, and babywipes. No excuse not to change them.

- The Grandparents begged Chesterton and Porter Police two weeks ago when the father of the children was arrested, to take her to get help. The Chesterton Police let Crystal take the children out of the grandparents home as long as she had a friend driving her since she was messed up on pills at 4am. They did NOT want to give the kids back. Crystal had been on the run. She had no NIpsco at her home, and wasn't there with the kids. She was living out of her car. The grandparents prior to Saturday have been trying to talk Crystal into going in to rehab. They offered to watch her children for her to go. Saturday it was the Grandparents that called the Porter County Sheriff office to tell them a friend of Crystals tipped them off to Crystal going back home to check on her mother and dogs. The police were already going to meet them there. It was the friend who called about the mom being in a bad state. Don't Judge. The Grandparents are not to blame. They tried to get her help, arrested, and the kids. The system has holes in them. Oh and the son grew up in a household with a hard working father, stepmother, and EVERY opportunity to be a good man. Their other children are smart, loving, hardworking and very much devestated that their brother and sister in law could do this. And before people judge on where they were to stop the abuse, they are minors.

- The grandparents begged Porter and Chesterton Police to take the Mom away 2 weeks ago. The police said they couldn't do anything.
