Hopefully, anyone who needs social security and medicaid to help with their retirement will wise up now and put our President back in office for four more years. And if we get the Democratic Congress and Senate the 1% will finally be paying their fair share.

  2. Actually, I think it's news that 200 people are now going to be unemployed for at least nine months. Hopefully, the community can come together and find temporary employment for them while the rebuilding takes place.

  4. Couldn't agree more ... such a large percentage of congressman and senators are millionaires that they will never vote to increase taxes on the top 5% let alone 1%. The cost of running a campaign has gotten so out of control that normal working class people don't have a chance of being elected ... so the vicious circle just continues. When personal taxes are increased for those making $500,000 or more per year they will leave the money in their companies. When corporate taxes are increased they will use that money to truly be "job creators." That's the only way our country will ever get back to prosperity for all.

  5. This is wonderful. We were wondering what to do with the abundance from the garden this year as there are just some things that can't be canned or frozen. We will definitely be taking our excess to the local food pantry. Fresh veggies can add so much nutrition and flavor to food pantry staples.

If the players turn out to be correct and the NFL knew the danger of the repeated concussions these players suffered and yet they continued to send them out into the huddle week after week, then they should be held liable.

  9. I hope you're right Bad Boy, that way families in need can stretch the little bit of money they do receive further into the month so that they're not starving by the last week of the month. Unfortunately, most of them probably don't have any transportation to get to Wicker Park.
