- As a career fire fighter who will be affected by this change let me start by saying that 2 centers are needed. With all the calls between police and fire one center will not be able to handle it. As far a funding no one wants new taxes. Having said that the money is not going to come from any where else. The best solution is to institue the county income tax. Again I do not want any new taxes but there is no way out of this. The income tax will pay for the E-911 centers and lift the levy frozen by the state. Do people realize that all Lake county communities are hurting due to the levy? Services are hurting. People are hurting.
