  1. I will be very surprised if they find anyone to invest one dime in this failing enterprise. What we will get is a taxpayer sponsored boondoggle that will never make any money. They have already spent nearly 1/2 Billion dollars and are not willing to concede it is a failure.

  4. While I believe the seniority appointment is wrong, I believe Judge Pera and Judge Schiralli are correct in this case. The Indiana Constitution provides for a judiciary that is not controlled by the legislature. If the legislature could restrict transfers and promotions of judges, then the legislature would have control over their decisions. The Lake County Judiciary is a product of the corruption that Mr. James constantly supports and now he complains the ONE time it does not benefit his lackeys in power.

  7. Stifling free speech is not only wrong, it is counterproductive. The idea of open government is to promote the free flow of ideas between citizenry to elected officials. No where is this more important than in schools. I hope the Citizens of Portage remember that Cheryl Oprisko and her gang of thugs, Ekdahl and Bailey. VOTE THEM ALL OUT!
March 02, 2013 10:34 am on PHIL WIELAND: Exercising freedom of speech got tougher in Portage
  8. Again, cooking the numbers, looking at the worst case scenario. Why? Because hysteria creates news papers. There is no hysteria here. If the budget passed with these cuts we would all deal with it and move on. In this case, our leadership on both sides of the aisle have failed to provide a budget that is workable in over 4 years.
February 26, 2013 8:08 am on Region would feel immediate effects of sequester-driven budget cuts
