- i would like to first say that people need to get their facts straight. In point, one person here mentioned David Malinski and that he had been sitting in prison for years and finally decided to admit what he did and where he buried Lorraine Kirkley. The truth of the matter is, that he wanted to join the prison church, and the Chaplin told him that he would have to tell where he buried her body. There was never any doubt about what he did, that is why he is in prison. On the subject of the McCowan case, i truly believe, that this case is not as cut and dry as some may think. There are many facts that we as the public don't know, and i understand that we can only go by what we read. Just because McCowan was the last known person to be with Amanda Bach, doesn't automatically make him guilty. I agree that there are some things that may make him look guilty, but there are also things that make me question this case. One of the first things is, why (if he did this) would he take her body and dispose of it so close to his house? Why didn't the police find any traces of blood on the property? As far as I've read different articles, there has never been any mention of this. The police have never been able to connect him to this crime through DNA. The neighbor who claimed that she heard both a male and female voice the night of murder and the female saying "i can't believe this is happening". My question is, who was this female? I also read, that Amanda and some man left her house around 10:00pm. So who was this man? Michelle Walbright who lives two houses down from where McCowan used to live in Union Township said she heard three gun shots at 12:50 a.m. on Sept. 16. So how can this be,when Amanda was shot only once? These are just a few questions i would like to have answers to, and are the questions that make me unsure of what really happened. For those who chose to bash the McCowan family because they want to believe their child didn't commit this crime, i think that if you were in their shoes, you would feel the same way. And to assume that Mr. McCowan is corrupt just because he is a police officer just shows the ignorance of those who believe this without having proof to back it up! I, like most people, want to see justice served for Amanda and her family, but i don't want to see someone go to prison if they didn't commit the crime. I have to believe that the judicial system will make the right decision, and that if McCowan didn't commit this crime, that the one who did, will be brought to justice.
