"Karen Pepoff Knight" say's ok everyone we had a meeting with Mayor this morning which was much more production. If had never been brought to Little Leagues attention if we went to field of dreams the City would buy uniforms, pay umpires and buy equipment , we did not know this until today, if this is the plan than we would not neend concessions whatsoever. We would be fine the city taking concessions and not having to volunteer to work it. I hope now that we are enlighten by the news we can now move forward and the City will go with the program that has been established for over 50 years. It would be nice city collecting all fees, maintaining property and fields and we actually get to watch are kids play ball. In the mean time I think what everyone needs to do is fix the flaws they see in our current program and make it better, have training for new coaches, pick out the coaches that are not all about the win but the teaching of the game. See Cal Ripken is joined by travel ball, if people want to travel to other cities to play the Mayor said if they can't afford to get from point a to point b he would provide transportation like bus service or such to get them there, that is awesome. I think it can really work if we can communicate better and do whats best for the kids. Only thing about Cal Ripken differ that I don't care for is they have there A team B and C teams, their a team are the ones chosen to travel (tourneys and such) the rest are there bad players who just stay local and every year that A team stays together. Mayor seems to want the same thing Little League wants which is whats best for the kids and we just have to put it together. But we have so many people telling us "Little League" do right thing keep Little League alive well we only have a few fighting to do so, And if you want the fighting to keep it going to continue we need your support. So many have told me we are the root of their success, well help us do same for the future children.
