  2. For all of you out there commenting about the police taking the $56,000.....exactly how much cash do you travel with? Let me know the next time you are going on vacation please, sounds like you will be buying for the whole trip.
    And great job to the all the agencies and officers involved. Keep up the great job!!!!

  5. McD's...I65 is state's responsibility however, with the downsizing of the state police there are many many many times that local jurisdicitions will assist the state with accidents and such.

  6. trimcosts-what an idiotic statement that crime has gone up in Porter county because of the consolidation!!!! Crime is crime whether you have 600 different dispatch centers or 1...criminals don't base their activity on how many 911 centers there are in a county!!!! The 911 center in Porter county does work. As for the financial mess, yes, it was mandated by the State that agencies consolidate but they never coughed up any financial assitance for it. If only the county could charge surcharges to people that make stupid comments like yours...finances wouldn't be a problem.

    That man was NOT just an officer. He was a brother, a son and a fiancee. If they do re-evaluate this part of the road it is because another life was lost at this intersection, not just because Mr. Pratt was a "cop." My heart breaks for everyone involved in this tragic accident.
