- Several million for a pool complex, over 2 million for laptops (that have to be refreshed in a couple of years, when....my son already had a perfectly good laptop) and now they need to ask the taxpayers for more money. I understand there is a shortfall in funds from the state, but it would seem like some bad financial management is afoot here and we are expected to make up the difference. Asking for a tax increase seems to be the easy way out of this mess. After having my payroll taxes go up Jan. 1, paying for gas, and who knows what else our President has planned, my pockets are turned inside out.
