1. I haven't heard a lot of nice things about Prompt from the public, their fellow EMS caregivers, and from former employees so I'm not surprised about this at all. When i heard Prompt was taking the EMS contract away from ECFD, I knew it would only be a matter of time before things like this happened. Bottom line, prompt is a private ambulance service that the bottom line is $$$, not patient care. Why pay for someone to go to paramedic school when you can just show him what to do in a couple days and to heck with what the state requires?!

  2. While I will agree with Alan that any responding emergency vehicle whether it is personal or department owned, needs to drive with due regard, I disagree entirely with the sentiment that volunteer firefighters responding to emergency calls are not above breaking the traffic laws (including speeding). I am by no means condoning reckless driving and behavior but when an emergency arises at your home, or with one of your family members, do you want the people coming to help you to make sure they drive the speed limit? Personally, I want them there as fast as humanly possible while doing so safely
