  1. I can't believe anyone thought our mayor KFW would be different for Gary. Wasn't she the legal counsel for the GUEA? It appeared that the real scam being run there was acquiring tax sale parcels all over Gary (regardless of the enterprise zone location) in order to generate legal fees for well connected lawyers who did the minimal work to file for deeds. Pay no mind that the fees typically exceeded the parcel value. I wonder if the GUEA legal counsel made the decision on which lawyers got that "work"? Maybe their focus on this revenue stream made them blind to Meeks and her thievery? Or, was it just a free for all? One thing's for sure, KFW has gotten our money's worth out of Chelsea the propagandist if she fooled even one of you.

  2. It's funny how these County politicians said they are getting their report in front of everyone downstate. It's funny that The Times uses the report to further push the income tax on us. It's not funny that neither has provided the public access to the report. Why isn't there a link on the county or Times websites? It takes only a few seconds to post a document these days.

  3. "I think the jury is still out on dual credit," he said. "It sounds good, but there are a lot of people concerned about dual credit. Is it really college-level work? If not and a student gets college-level credit, does it water down the degree? That's one concern, and it's all about quality control."

  4. I'll go with the simple explanation and not the conspiracy. Why would BP go through all the trouble of running a candidate when they could just bribe the current officeholder? SusanZ says they have a history of bribery. GVT has no qualms about taking "donations" from those doing business with his office, right?

It makes absolutely no sense that they thought they could beat an entrenched democrat in Lake County with a republican. Krieg was in the race long before the feds raided GVT's office.

  5. I said I would wait until GVT's legal problems are finished for the final tally. I'm amused by the "savings" you claim, though.

What part of your last sentence does not already apply to GVT and Lake County Democrats Inc?

  6. I like how this works. GVT has taken us all for a ride already. Where do I send you the bill for my share? I'll wait until the grand jury announcement for the final tally.

  7. Who knows what you might question his honor over next? You sure have stretched thus far. In the real world, he is running against a guy who has a far from honorable record. I'll take my chances that Krieg won't steal county gas, let his kid use county vehicles, hire unqualified friends and relatives, trade hires of friends and relatives with other local elected officials, allow employees to do political work on the taxpayer's dime, promote projects based on politics, and fail to follow contract guidelines and state law on projects performed by politically connected contractors. You know, that "inside baseball" that GVT is proud of.

  8. "Do people NOT know the answer their boss wants? "

That one always makes me chuckle, no matter how many times you use it. I wonder if that question was posed to GVT's grand jury?

BTW, I have to agree with gentle touch about the persuasiveness of your anti-Krieg screeds.

  10. " How many employees would not know the answer the boss would like to see?"

I have to agree with this one. Van Til likely made it very clear who he would like to see paid in full for incomplete work.

No doubt, it was just as clear as his instructions to fill up his private vehicle with county gas and decision on what county vehicle his son should drive to school.

Something tells me, though, that Van Til probably won't admit to the feds his ability to influence the actions of his minions.
