  3. You're correct. Universal background checks wouldn't have saved those children and teachers. But banning such weapons entirely for sale to the general public just might have. They should be reserved for your entry into a state militia or our national armed services. Bottom line, if George W. Bush and his Republican Congress had renewed the Clinton-era assault weapons ban that mother wouldn't have been able to legally purchase that weapon. So now we have to start over with a new ban and even some Democrats are scared of being primaried from the right over the issue. They realize the money they'd be up against. This represents the public's safety on a negotiable basis dictated by rich special interests. You simply can't paint it any other way.

  4. The polling on universal backgrounds checks is really quite remarkable. It polls in the 90%'s every time. In multiple independent tallies. Quinnipiac just came out with theirs. So if this doesn't pass Congress and make it to the president's desk for signature it is proof beyond the shadow of a doubt that we have rich corporations and lobbying groups controlling We the People's govenment. We have reverted back to taxation without representation.

  6. You really ought to re-read your 2nd Amendment. We the People get to regulate the arms you bear. In fact, your Constitutional rights, spelled out in the Bill of Rights, are all subject to regulation. You can be as pro-gun as you want. But guns are subject to regulation. And anyone who tells you differently has a pro-gun-SALES agenda...not a clear understanding of the Bill of Rights.

  7. Funny...a quick scan of the discussion board shows very little of substance coming from you. The person you're calling out like you're in 8th grade always backs up his positions with facts. And unless you possess an AR15 I really don't see him calling for a gun grab. Nor is a gun grab the position of the political left is this country.

  8. Any "common sense patriot" would see the reasonableness of universal background checks, limits of ten rounds on ammo clips and serious sentencing for straw purchasers. Those who don't are merely doing the gun lobby's bidding: profits over safety for our children.
