- I drove past this accident 2 times today and saw the car. It was a maroon Chrysler Pt Cruiser with a handicap plate. It was laying in the ditch that is right where Calumet and 77th intersect. the whole passenger side was crushed very badly. The crossing sign that blinks was bent down and and laying in the ground from the force. The train didn't leave the intersection until about 3:20pm. The railroad crossing seems quite visible to me and if you are driving eastbound there is a huge bright yellow sign a while before the crossing warning you about it. I think all crossing should have gates. On Monday I was driving and there was another more minor looking train accident at the crossing by Patterson Street. This is the same set of tracks too. It looked like that involved two cars but never saw anything about it in the paper.
