- I don't know the law but I'm thinking that since mom had sole custody of a minor and dad was basically an absent parent, that perhaps she had knowledge of this heart condition, which is why she accepted the autopsy reports, and she feels the fathers doesn't have the right to see it all which is why it isn't being released to him. As far as being harmful, perhaps it is harmful to the mother for the father to get this information. As I said, I don't know the law and if it would protect her wishes here.

- The problem is that this guy is not talking about "managing" mental illness. He is claiming there is a 90% recovery rate, which is completely false. This guy has had Guest Commentaries before. He is not about mental health issues as the majority of us see them which includes depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and more. This guy works with drug addicts and alcoholics. He has before claimed almost all people with mental health issues can be fine after going through rehab. Uh huh, right!!! REAL mental health disorders don't work that way. It is indeed a matter of management for the person to hopefully be able to go out and be productive again not a matter of simply "recovering". My opinion is this guy shouldn't be allowed the space he takes up in this paper.

- I am so amazed so many think this father was right in going to his mother's and harming this animal and state you would do the same, etc etc. I'm not saying that in defense of the dog or the owner either. What I want to know is what type of father walks away from his injured child at a hospital for ANY reason? That right there shows you the type of man he is.

- I don't like this commentary at all. It links mental illness and substances abuse together hand-in-hand and while substance abusers may or may not have an underlying mental illness, it's hardly fair to suggest that all those who suffer from mental illnesses are substance abusers.
