Okay people...yes, some semi drivers drive too close; however, I pull a 32 foot horse trailer and there are way too many passenger vehicle drivers who cut in and out of lanes with no regard to the fact that we cannot stop on a dime. If I leave 4 car lengths between me and the vehicle in front of me THAT SPACE DOES NOT HAVE YOUR NAME ON IT! Stop cutting in front of us and stop tailgating!

  2. Ummmmm...let's not call this man a drunk driver until we know the facts. Was he, in fact, out drinking? Maybe it was a medical condition that caused him to temporarily black out and become disoriented. Whatever the reason, my deepest sympathies to his family and prayers for the semi driver he is able to cope with this horrific tragedy.

  4. 1) How will this generate money for the city?
    2) How will this cut down on traffic if they are sharing the roadway?
    3) What about the 'irresponsible' users?
    4) If they are allowed on the road they need to be able to do the speed limit, have headlights, brakelights, and turn signals.
    5) The driver needs to be licensed
    6) The golf cart driver must have insurance

  5. Keep the golf karts off the roads! They belong on golf courses. If you aren't able to drvie a car, you shouldn't be driving 'anything!' We have enough distractions while driving, we don't need to add another.

  6. Seriously? If the suit is against the school, Lebo, and Gilliland, why is Mr. Ashcraft's picture plastered on the front page again? What he did was wrong; however, I still feel 21 years is too long for what he did. This girl knew what she was doing. Where were her parents for 2 years? Why didn't the Lebo and Gilliland step in instead of ignoring the situation? I know - because that is how the athletic department works at LPHS. The charges against them are a slap on the wrist.
    I agree with the previous posts, and I hope the parents don't collect a dime!
