- I'd hate to call you a liar but.....In the 20+ years I have known Kottka, I have NEVER seen him "Blitzed". Plus, you can't be serious about complaining about sitting around with his neighbors drinking beer. That's the dumbest thing I've heard yet. Where are all your young "Robocops" when your kid is afraid to ride her bike home? With all your complaints, have you once thought that Kottka is just one man. He cannot babysit ALL cops. - What is wrong with some of you people? Nobody here knows what is REALLY behind the demotions, but what people are objecting to is the WAY it was done. THAT is why there is talk of loyalty and respect. After 30+ years of service, you receive a PHONE CALL?? Your told the day before, "Oh by the way, your no longer chief". THAT'S what people are objecting to. Instead, lunatics behind fake names attack their wives and daughters? I don't think the cops in Griffith would like anyone to accuse THEIR wives of writing most of these attacks, as so many people are suggesting. Leave wives and daughters out of it. Also, SHOOTING AT SOUTH LAKE MALL. Tear it down and fire Hobart police. Crime is EVERYWHERE people.

- To those who wonder why a "Hobart" resident was at the rally: I bought a home in Griffith in the 80's, had a daughter who graduated from GHS, and HAD to move in mid 90's due to an elderly family members illness. I continue to bank in Griffith, eat at your restaurants, attend my Grandchildren's softball games in your parks, and am a member of the Griffith VFW and Griffith American Legion. Because I do not live in Griffith, does not mean I do not care about the community. Your "Chief" does not live in Griffith either. I remember when Kottka, Gulley, Hector and McCarter were the most respected men in town. My daughter and her friends HID when they saw these guys coming. They did their jobs. I never heard them BLAME Grimmer for ANYTHING. Kids are different now, some vicious, some armed, I understand that. Times are different, crime is worse EVERYWHERE, I'm just not convinced that turning over a town to a bunch of young guys who beat their chests about being a "Marine" or "Airborne" qualifies them to lead. Your not looking for "war" on Broad street are you? I'm real nervous about the DIS-respect and DIS-loyalty shown to these 30 plus years veterans of the police force. Some people will step on their own mothers to get ahead. Be careful what you wish for.
