- Bobby, Give me a break. I know you guys are angry at the politics that went on, and I know you don't like "prompt" in general, but seriously, most of the medics are good, honest people that genuinely care about taking care of people. It's really amazing that you have nothing better to do than listen to a scanner and follow prompt crews on calls. As I said before, all the EC medics had a chance to hire on with prompt. If you really cared about "your city" as you say, you should have continued to serve the people there. That was your choice. EC ems was not without its problems as well. Most of them were good people that just wanted to do a good job, but there are always one or two who had issues. You make a big deal about the IV started by an EMT, but there have been other services with this happen also, including EC ems. You sound very much like the pot calling the kettle black. Stop causing trouble for the people that are just trying to do their jobs. And seriously, I meant what I said about getting a life... worry about your own business and stop using the scanner and following the medics.

- It seems funny that the only people who are throwing a fit are former east chicago medics. If they really cared about "their" city, they would have taken the jobs offered by prompt to make sure "their residents" were taken care of. The facts are that the crews that are in East Chicago do a good job and take excellent care of the patients here. If you analyze the times, yes, there were a couple of long responses, but not by the medics assigned to the city on a full time basis. The fact of the matter is some of the EC medics were substandard when it was a city service. Walking patients with chest pain or shortness of breath to the ambulance, finishing your dinner before you respond to an emergency. Seems as if the pot is calling the kettle black. Own up to your mistakes. No one is perfect, but I sure don't make up a bunch of stuff to try to create problems...We all should be working together to provide excellent service to the residents of the city instead of causing trouble. Grow up!

- I love how the Times is running with half truths and furthering the political agenda's of some disgruntled employees (or ex - city employees). The fact of the matter is that there is a political agenda here and people are mad at the mayor for his decision to privatize. The fact of the matter is that the residents of East Chicago are getting faster and better care than they ever did previously. Maybe people should be examining the facts instead of sounding like complete idiots. Compare the prior care and attitudes to what is there now before you speak. Shame on you Times. I guess even the stupid are entitiled to free speech...
