  2. For transparency reasons, I'd like to hear about the other "spending cuts" the City tried before going after the Fire Department. Any cuts attempted with the Police Department or that City Court? Just curious.

  3. The best example of Mayor Snedecor being a micro-manager is Fire Chief Brian Taylor. Several assistant fire chiefs have already realized that Taylor is only a figure head and does whatever the Mayor tells him. Closing fire stations/equipment, not replacing firefighters, secret talks about privatizing the ambulance, and the list goes on and on. Taylor is no dummy; he sees the writing on the wall and he is protecting himself, not the Fire Department. Why else is he serving as a reserve Hobart policeman and trying to get hired on the Police Department while he is "Fire Chief?" If you are not a cop in Hobart and you question what the Mayor wants, you are out of luck, and unfortunately, so is the City.
