Oh and don't bother feeling sorry for whomever is hired as the County 911 Communications Director, they will be paid a very good salary and will be accountable for nothing, just like the last one.

Bingo! There has been no logical talk or planning at all, this has been about control and money from day one, this is why there is nothing to show for it except more taxes and fees. This does work in many areas, I don't believe however it's needed here, Lake County is still very spread out with many agencies in rural areas, I wonder how many different agencies other dispatch centers like this carry. Either way you are correct, this should have been outsourced and privately controlled form day one. The state politicians that passed this law did it blind with no plan and they are the ones to blame.

Yes actually you did miss a big tax coming to you soon, it's the "fire territory tax". This is so the FD's can get their huge piece of the pie they believe they are missing out on. Maybe Crown Point can buy it's sixth Chevy Tahoe with air card & laptop, or maybe Lowell can buy another $500K ladder truck, and so on.... No it never ends and it never will.

For once the republican's voted and passed something that will benefit the Lake County democrats and they didn't see this coming? The "Sheriff" and his "people" are loving this one all the way to the bank! The Sheriff was seeing $$ signs from day one and has made sure to keep his hooks sunk into this one deep! Why is it that every time our taxes go up it's because of "Lake County politics", when the county is shrinking and the towns and cities are growing? Shouldn't the "county" and its infrastructure be decreasing since the other towns and cities are growing, especially south? Either way, all this law did was put more money in the control of an already defunct county government center.

I would have to guess this guy works at the Casino and probably a security guard by the jacket he's wearing. He obviously knows someone there, while he's pointing and talking to someone.
