Stop lying,jazz. Don Sciackitano has never threatened to raise taxes or cut services. It's shame you have to resort to lying because you can't defend Abbott.

How is Abbott going to make up a 2 million dollar sales tax deficit as a result of his failure to bring in new businesses to replace the more than 20 that have left under his regime.

Well I see that none of you were able to address the fact that Mr Abbott had to hire an unelected outsider to do the job that he was elected to do. Truth hurts,doesn't it?

Now let's discuss the fact that well over 20 businesses have left or closed under the Abbott regime. That translates into a 2 Million Dollar Deficit when compared to 2008. Taxes may have to be raised or services cut as a result.

The Village of Lansing desperately needs a change. Mayoral candidate Don Sciackitano and the Progressive Action Party will do the job that Abbott & Co have failed to do. Every vote counts,so make sure you vote this Tuesday,April 9th.

While Lansing businesses are closing,Mayor Abbott's response was to hire an out-of-town village administrator at a $130,000 annual salary and a monthly vehicle allowance of $400. The Mayor continues to collect a salary while someone who we did not elect does his job.

Lansing taxpayers did not consent to this expensive,unnecessary hire and now we are concerned about how our tax dollars are spent and confused about who is running the Village of Lansing.

Why are we paying two people to do one person's job?

The event was scheduled months ago. "How does he plan to include everyone"? For Starters,Don Sciackitano has an African-American and a Hispanic candidate on his ticket while Abbott has none.

My point is that when you take into account the the losses that will occur at other businesses,the project isn't all that is being touted by the Abbott regime.
As to "why on 41 in Highland/Schererville area there is a Target, Meijers, Walmart and Stracks - all seeming to be doing just fine."
Those stores each sell a different level of quality and Walmart doesn't have anywhere near the selection of goods and food that a SperWalmart will have.

Months prior to the election the Lansing Police Dept would post serious crimes on their website under the "Weekly Blotter". They included date,time,and type of offense. As election time grew closer they disappeared. Now all that is reported are minor traffic violations. Citizens of Lansing deserve to know what crimes are being committed and where,so they can take measures to ensure their safety. Why is the Abbott regime refusing to provide us with this information?
