"Dear Heavenly Father,
I want to lift up my brothers and sisters in the HPD family tonight. Today has been a very emotional day, and for many, a day that reminds us that the ultimate sacrifice may be asked of us at anytime. We thank You for the protection that You gave to our brother this morning. I pray that his wounds may heal quickly, and that You will oversee his recovery and return to service. I pray for his wife and his family, that they may receive peace at this time. I pray for our Department, that You will watch over each of them as they perform their duties, and that You would keep them safe. I pray that Justice would be served for those responsible for the criminal acts performed today, and that the judgement would be swift and severe.
Most of all Father, I pray that this event will strengthen our bonds of brotherhood/sisterhood as we perform the duties that You have entrusted to us. Amen."
