1. Hammond claims this bill will stop 20 layoffs. those guys are dreaming. If this bill passes lcpl will most likely sell the main library and keep 2 to 3 local branches based on population. merrilville has one branch, highland has one, griffith, munster, ect. so hammond will only have a few. meaning about 5 librarians and 10 to 12 minimum wage jobs. a whole lot of them will be looking for work. the main library building isn't worth the debt but first baptist chirch will buy cheap and we'll eat the loss. poor, poor planning. closing branches and keeping the main building isnt efficient. lcpl did renovations and built new branches all with past surplus. no debt. great reward for being fiscally responsible.

  2. Reardon doesn't even represent hammond. She represents munster and highland! I won't pay more taxes for Hammond's debt. Let hammond take care of their own debt then merge. If you really want to know whats going on politically, I'll tell you. reardon has doubts about winning the 12th district again. With munster in the 12th, it is a much tighter race between rep/dem. So she is throwing her constituents under the bus so she can suck up to the powers that be in lake county to get another tax payer funded government job. She's no good. Lets trim the fat off government. Vote her out.
