1. I believe you mean Vermont and New Hampshire in place of Texas and Florida. They are much more relaxed on the gun restriction front. As for your contention of suicides being an important number, unfortunately for your talking point there is no connection whatsoever between access to guns and total suicide rate. Remove the guns, and the suicide still happens, just through other methods. As for preventing mass shootings, Harris, Cho, Loughner, and Holmes were all deeply disturbed individuals, and in the case of the latter three, all had severe indications that they were dangerous. Your time would be much better spent advocating a look at our current mental health system.
