- I have read some really dumb comments over the years on this site. But the comment about EC having a "Lucky" year last year has got to be top 5 no wait a minute gotta be my in my top 3 of the most ridiculous comments I have read. Either you have a murder or you don't.... I just don't see the logic where luck has anything to do with it. People can lie but the numbers don't.

- We as public safety professionals have never been so disrespected. Is this how the Mayor treats his front line, first responders? Those courageous men and women who put on a uniform each and every day and risk their lives each and every day. This is how you treat them? Mr. Grass roots I speak for the people citizens in action what a change you have made. I wonder if you would have agreed with taking from all first responders when you were one of them? What incentive does the city of East Chicago and it's administration provide for first responders who work for the city? Answer ZERO!! You expect us to do our job and sadly you have failed at yours ..... NEVER disrespect those that protect you

- mindurbiz sounds intelligent people maybe he/she is an attorney or something. C'mon people get real....this case would never be where it's at unless there was "hard evidence". Do you think the Federal Government is on some sort of fishing expedition no way the case is made already and it's time to pay the piper. And mindurbiz thinks the case got where it's at because of "shorty snitches" please you know what they say when the FEDS got you they got you...

- That is right Mayor Copeland campaigned on a promise of better public safety and everyone bought into this promise. I will tell you what his promise is: Mayor Copeland will make a 10% pay cut to the East Chicago Police Department, he will also lay Police Officers off. Is that what you call taking care of the citizens of East Chicago. He already got rid of the entire East Chicago EMS Service and the Police Department is next. But not to worry because his answer is to hire RESERVE police officers...that's right folks anybody can now become an East Chicago Reserve Police Officer. Thanks Mr. Mayor but like you said yourself the East Chicago Police are the same as any other city workers so why should you take care of them.....These are the same men and women who risk their lives everyday and everynight for the City of East Chicago but to Mayor Copeland in your world they are the same as a garbage man....Can't wait for the next election!!!!!!
