Which numbers are not correct? 1.6 million 150 and hour consultant? 50+ thousand per year? Easily proved, salaries are public record, the newspaper has provided the 1.6 million figure and the 150 an hour consultant was actually in another article and once again all of this is public record. So not tossing numbers? No speaking fact.

Would have had 1.6 million to use if they had taken the money away from the auditors office sooner. How about his "chief of staff" that makes 50+ thousand per year department heads don't make that much. Or the 150.00 and hour consultants. Let's start there.

"To not address this issue is irresponsible," Porter County Auditor Bob Wichlinski said. "Nothing should be so sacred that it's not considered."
They should check into the auditors "chief of staff" first start there she makes the more than most of the elected officials.To think all this time I thought the only person with a chief of staff was a President.

Thank God how some one spend the amount of money he has without anyone questioning it is ridiculous. It is about time that someone held the auditor accountable. He has blown through 1.5 million in funds with no accountability the taxpayers should know where it has been spent.

If you spend as much as you take in does that make it a win? Also the spending of approximately 8000.00 a month for a lease in Portage while everyone else is trying to reign in costs is efficient government? I mean if we are going to tell half the story why not the whole story? More people are doing their business on line if they have to go to the county seat to fill something out or pay something that is a once in a while occurrence. I mean honestly Hobart is more of a distance to Crown Point than Portage is to Valparaiso and you don't see them putting more services in Hobart. I think that the council is just looking for a little common sense here and a little accounting. You know every department in the place has to account for where their funds are spent yet the auditors office wants free reign. That is still taxpayers money and should be accounted for. Kopp hired back at a rate more than he made as auditor previously. And how much are we paying for the investigator? I heard he made 12,000.00 in one month correct me if I am wrong. They did not kill TQM they just killed Santa Claus hiring his buddies for a nice paycheck. Let's do the math here if 500,000 was given to start the program and 1.6 million was brought in and there is 600,000 left how much of 2.1 million was spent and where? Doesn't seem like that should be too hard to figure out.

If he collected 1.6 million and the council had given him 500,000 to start the process that is 2.1 million in extra funds for his office. Yet he has 600,000 left does anyone know what the balance was spent on? I have heard he is paying 100-125 an hour for :"consultants" and investigators. Can anyone verify where this money has gone and who is getting paid these big salaries?

Is the Times going to ask the tough question here? Where is the other million from the auditors office and where is the 500,000 that the county originally gave him. By my count that would be 2.1 million dollars with only 600,000 accountable. Where was the rest of it spent? I mean wow imagine what could be done if each office had 1.5 million extra dollars to spend. I could care less who is president and vice president I want to know where county money is being spent.

Ok so they say no and the one looks to be a loan officer so no one comes in and gets a loan, then it looks like there is a real estate agent no one buys a house and another has her own business so no one comes in and buys. Logic here.
