- Well I for one have some opinions regarding this seeing as I have had 3 c-sections. First off when i had my first one it was the doctor who made the call, NOT THE HOSPITAL. My child was in danger and she needed to be out. The one lady who mentioned that women shouldn't have to be tied to monitors, well if I wasn't, my daughter would have died because her heartbeat would decline with every contraction because she was pushing on her cord and cutting off her air supply and had I been up walking without a monitor I would have not had her here today. They don't want yo to eat or drink in case of a c-section seeing as if you have one and have a stomach full of food you can vomit and swallow it on the table, thus choking to death. So now on two the next 2 I had. I was told my doctor doesn't do VBAC's and I know I could have changed doctors but i weighed the huge risks of vbacs and the possibility of tearing my uterus and possibly dying and leaving 2 daughters behind or repeat the c-section and decrease that risk and rest assured that although it was a surgery, I've done it before, I love my doctor and I knew Methodist Southlake was a great place to be. So for my 3rd daughter I chose the same thing. 3 Daughters and 3 scars later I am EXTREMELY happy with my decision.
