- No. This is not an issue for change of venue. The question is an issue of dual jurisdiction, depending on the wording of the statute. Where you are tried in this instance would depend on which county wanted to prosecute you.

- Not necessarily. It would certainly be a grounds for recusal by the judge, but it would most likely not be reason for granting change of venue.

- And what exactly happened to the massive surplus our federal government had after Clinton's two terms? Poor fiscal responsibility goes both ways.

- You're right, because the people who look like they take it seriously have always done such a wonderful job. And since when did a mustache make you look like you smoke weed?

- I find it a little messed up you all are wanting to make this into something bigger than it is. Why didn't they mention anything? Because it violates federal law if they do. Even if they wanted to, because he's a minor they couldn't mention his name anyway. Get over yourselves, no one ever suggested bad stuff doesn't happen at CP just like it happens at every school in NWI. A kid screwed up, stop acting like its the end of the world. When I was at CP this stuff happened from time to time, and guess what, people paid the consequences, whether they were athletes or not. Just because they can't mention it publicly doesn't mean they are covering anything up.

- Actually, in the State of Indiana, in cases in which the accused holds a position of authority over the minor (i.e. teacher, administrator, coach, etc.) the age of consent is irrelevant as to whether or not the act is criminal. A similar case is currently being prosecuted of a cheerleading coach engaging in sexual activity with an 18 year old student in Shelbyville. My guess is the civil suit is intended both to make sure he cannot get another teaching job, and to force the prosecutors to file criminal charges.
