- I switched from the PT years ago when its writing became so poor and leftist. The Times has been slowly moving that direction.

- Just in case I was misinterpreted, I am all for this venture. But there is no indication there will be a problem and we start off burying the project with sworn police officers. I sometimes think there is ulterior motive behind this requirement. If the owner allows a problem, there are ordinances against public nuisance. Put the project up for review. If there is a problem the owner can then be tasked with addressing it. Lets not try to kill good things for Merrillville.

- That "certain woman" is old news. As I recall that was settled several years ago with the removal of the homesteads and repayment. No the people should not be put in jail. As the attorney said, some are honest or misinformed mistakes. Once caught, the taxes have to be paid.

- How about this. Rescind the illegal law and refund the money back to the rightful owners you took it from. Oh wait, someone's son, daughter, wife, husband, or other relative needs a job. Can't wait to see the battle and deals cut to narrow it down to the winner.

- The law still hasn't passed. That doesn't make it legal. It cannot be used for the stated purpose and if they keep it they'll hire someone's relative. Then try to get rid of them. Wont happen.

- BULL! Give them their money back. You broke the law when you enacted this ordinance and many believe you knew it when you did it.

- Seems to be a pattern here. The prosecutor is bad, the chiefs are all bad. All of those with years of experience and training in the law and who have earned the trust of people are the problem. By the way I think Merrillville has one of the best police departments in the area. It just has some very vocal whiners.
