Was I surprised when my daughter sent me this article, but not really. I worked at that Sears store for 23 years before the mall was closed in and have a lot of great memories especially the holidays when it was so crowded you could hardley walk down the main aisles. I agree with all the posts as to why it is closing. I've seen the demise of downtown Dolton, Dixie Square, Woodmar, Evergreen Park, Harvey and numerou others for the same reason. Yes I agree Southlake will not be much longer along with Westfield.
