RJ2013

  1. Illinois government has to reduce their waste before continuing increasing their taxing and spending on programs that have no warranty would benefit anyone. At first sight a youth jobs program would be desirable but we already have other programs that if effective would fill this function, starting with the Illinois Department of Education vocational curriculum and counseling. At any rate, taxing athletic shoes is a regressive measure since it has a disproportionate impact on poor families and minorities whose children use this attire.
If there are going to be any new taxes then let them be luxury items instead to be paid by those that have money to burn in $100,000 cars , $5,000 watches and $1,000 shoes.
