- Who is going to enforce this ordinance? The same person that doesn't enforce other ordinances?
- February 27, 2013 7:25 am on Merrillville changes rental ordinance
-
- It would be better to report what happens at the meeting, not just they are having one. The on-line Merrillville page hasn't had the minutes of the meetings since last year. Are the meetings a big secret?
- February 27, 2013 7:21 am on M'ville Police Commission will meet Friday at Town Hall
-
- If they do privatize the ambulance service they should keep the firefighters so the engines and ladders have the required personnel. If they stop running an engine with the ambulance on medic calls they would save alot of money. There are four men at the station, two on the engine and two on the ambulance. With them both responding on medic calls and there is a fire call, you have two on the engine which is not enough for structure fires.
- January 17, 2013 9:28 am on Relatives of fallen Hobart firefighter plead with city officials not to reduce force
-
- The Trustee doesn't pay the full time fire fighters and if you live in Ross Township you're paying taxes for them now. I hardly think raising fees at the parks would have anything to do with it. We need full time firefighters because there aren't enough "voulunteers" to handle the calls. Oh, by the way, Merrillville is still a Town!
- January 13, 2013 10:00 pm on Ross Township offers season passes for facilities
-
- The property was donated to the Town and they failed yo record it in the Town's name. Now we have to pay $25,000.00 for their mistake, typical incompetence of the Council. Doesn't Pettit live in the Preserves?
- October 10, 2012 7:53 am on Merrillville Town Council gives OK to purchase parcel for Preserve park site
-
- Tree branch collection should be available for all residence of Merrillville, not just senior citizens. There are tree branches piled along streets now that haven't been picked up because the town only picks them up after storms. Most towns go through subdivisions weekly to pick up tree branches.
- September 13, 2012 7:54 am on Official wants different branch collection program for seniors
-
- This will be another ordinance that isn't going to be enforced. They, town council, believe they can raise money by this ordinance, who is going to enforce it? The same person that doesn't write tickets for all the other ordinances. Garbage can left out all week, expired license plates, out of state plates, high grass, etc. the list goes on and on. Crime in the neighborhoods may be reduced if the police would patrol them, you hardly ever see a police car go through the subdivisions. Merrillville doesn't need more ordinances, they need more ENFORCEMENT!.
- June 27, 2012 7:07 am on M'ville rental ordinance receives initial OK
-
- It would be a great help if a reporter could print what happens at the meeting. Some of us work and can't attend the meeting at that time.
- June 03, 2012 8:32 am on Sewer districts scheduled to meet Monday in Merrillville

- Ed Yerga left the GFD along time ago. If you check your tax bill, I believe the special tax is for the fire territory.
