  1. Kudos to Deborah Laverty for getting this story twisted beyond belief. You even interviewed the guy who ACTUALLY did the saving and you STILL gave credit to the wrong person. Haney, props for your undeserving nomination. How could you take credit for an act you didn’t perform? It was actually the manager at Charter who saved that guys life that night. HE noticed the guy laying on the floor, HE took the pulse that was not beating, HE administered CPR, called 911, asked if a nurse was near-by, helped in administering the AED, and most importantly did not give up. HIS name is Jorge Almedina Jr. If any credit is given at all, it is he who deserves it; Not the officer who happened to show up during the scene nor the paramedics who thought there was no hope. If not for Jorge, that young man would be dead. Thank God for his courage and relentlessness that night.
