  4. There are two sides to every story. I think we need to trust that the police investigated and acted accordingly. The age of consent is 16 for a reason. And, don't forget that the credibility of the witness is a consideration.

    In recent years there have been many reports of people being wrong convicted, and giving up years of their lives only to be exonerated. As a teacher, I recall (years ago) reading that if something occurs between two students and you haven't witnessed it, 50% of the time you will believe the wrong person. Because of that, I endeavor to always react with caution and deliberation. I feel certain it is safe to say the police do the same.

    The civil suit is about money - nothing else. Where was parental concern when this young lady's schedule was changed?
