Mrs. Meyers felt it serious enough to turn in her husband to authorities. Her life will NEVER be the same. Plus, I don't think it's normal to threaten to burn your spouse alive and then go kill as many people as possible at an elementary school just because you were mad. Nope, he sounds like a psychopath and that his 'madness' has been an issue for a long time. Parents around the country are already grieving with the Sandy Hook families and afraid to let their kids go to school. After this threat, I don't feel it was wise state anything but to reassure the parents, students, staff, and community around Jane Ball that the PD would do whatever it takes to protect the children and adults during this time and afterwards.

Officer Smith can't assume or trust that this guy isn't serious because he's familiar with him and that he's a long time resident. How many times have you heard people say they're shocked when it's their neighbor, classmate, friend, or co-worker that was the shooter? This story is national now. How this is handled by police, the school system, the prosecutor, and judge will be highly scrutinized. The children, families, school, and community in Connecticut don't get a chance prevent their nightmare. We do. PLEASE TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY.
