This sounds fishy....what business is it of the "students" to be yelling at the teacher?

It is ridiculous. These kids sound ike they were bullying the teacher!!

Good idea....for the rest of the term, have an "escort" of sorts, shadow these three boys, while armed with some type of video camera.

Something where you would have no less than 2 adults monitoring these kids.....

None of this is right. The teacher probably should have retired some time ago.

The behaviours of these students involved need to be looked at and simply not excused.

I would like to hear from the substitute teacher. Something had to happen......those kids know.

They wouldn't know, you are correct. The teacher was clearly from a different generation. I am as well, but only knew this through the study of literature in college.

It is a Euphenism!!! For crying out loud!!

Granted it is an old euphenism, but never the less.....comes from "the knives are sharpend and the guns are loaded" ....meaning "I am ready to do battle with you"

Another familar euphenism..."don't shoot yourself in the foot"....

I am sure the kids "activities" while the sub was in the classroom would be way more shocking to us.

This is a time waster.....someone "wrangle those kids in"
