Some of the inmates in the holding cell are productive citizens. I know of an individual that may be eligible for some of the settlement and I hold them in high regard. Some of us make mistakes and land ourselves in jail. This does not make it acceptable to be exposed to unsanitary conditions. Eating moldy food, sleeping in over an over crowed, the toilet clogged with human waste etc...
Yes, it is unfortunate that tax payers foot the bill. Don't be upset with the inmates that were WRONGLY exposed to these conditions. Hold the officials we elect that allowed this to happen. If you really want to get into the nitty-gritty it's the voters to be held responsible for electing the officials into those positions. If you don't vote, then shame on you for not voicing your opinion. Either way, Lake County was wrong for allowing this to happen. Now they are being held accountable.
