The ground, dirt of the old rail yard is full of arsenic from over a century of railroads switching yard use of coal and rotting railroad ties that used to be dipped in an arsenic solution as a wood preservative. This is why the previous mayor was never able to build townhouses there . Google "arsenic rail trail" ,it is a nationwide problem.
