  1. You make me laugh Rover!! what a horrible life you must of had if you are so one-side. Not sure what kind of people you associate yourself with if that is your opinion on ALL people. Don't you think there is ever exceptions to every rule? If not I truly feel sorry for you. Milk the unemployment system? Some maybe, but those are the one that probably don't hold jobs. I would love to know what you did as a career, like accidents ever happen. But if you know anything about construction, which i doubt, you would know that it is usually an engineering problem, you know the ones that spend all that time in school making the blueprints, they draw it but dont build it. But someone so close minded like you wouldn't get that I'm sure, always blaming someone else for failures. But you should know that I am a PROUD wife of a union construction worker, who since he GRADUATED from the apprenticeship program 20 years ago, HAS NEVER COLLECTED ONE DIME OF UNEMPLOYMENT!!!! So, No, Im not nuts, just another middle class family trying to make it like everyone else.

  3. I can't stand when people who do not know what they are talking about make comments. First of all not all UNIONS are the same. Steelworkers unions are different than outside contractors unions like Electricains, Carpentars, Ironworkers, Boilermakers etc. In the outside unions yes there is a "scale" in which you have to be paid, but guess what? If you are a good worker and a company wants to keep youthey can pay you "Over scale" and also guess what? If you don't do the work and are lazy, Yes they can fire you from a job, easliy, no job no paycheck. So in these unions you still haveto work hard to make a living, nobody has to hire you for a job if your not a good worker and if your not you make a bad name for yourself and nobody hires you. Another thing people don't understand in these skilled trades they do goto school, most are 4 years with training and lower apprentice wages, you do not make scale until you pass school,(yes they do have tests) andon the job training. Now I don't know about the steelworkers union so I am not making an opinion on that, but I just don't think you should "Lump" all unions together.
