- I keep trying to remind myself that these long delays are rare. But we've had so many delays on the South Shore the past few months, you've kind of come to expect it. Then the railroad insults you by giving you a free ride. How about you get me to work on time? Or home to my family on time? How about better communication? How about shuttling people who had to walk from Hegewish to Hammond (which is very dangerous, by the way). There are so many problems with the South Shore, and it's not going to be changed overnight or in a few years for that matter. But those of us in Indiana are stuck. And the South Shore knows that, and they don't care, so don't expect to see changes anytime soon.
