Lady, I am sorry that you had to go through all this that you did, but I will give you first hand advise from one who has been in your shoes.
My first wife had a cocaine habit and I went through a lot that I should have said goodbye to her when I first found out.
Take what you went through as a warning because it is all down hill from here. Say goodbye to him and the mess he brings. You will be saving yourself a lot of grief and expense for going after someone whose choose will not be for your welfare.

The pawn shop will say that it wasn't them who brought the items to their store. So why would they have to loose their money.

I want to add my comment here. I know from first hand experience what someone with a drug addiction can do. I had a wife who was addicted to cocaine. She would believe a drug dealer for help rather than those who cared for her. I tried every way I could to get her help. She kept choosing to go back to the drugs. I lost items that were important to me and my family. These items ended up being pawned with no way I could get these items back.
My point here is no matter how much help the addicts have. They will choose the drugs.
