- Even though Gary has the highest rate of assistance I am really curious what their so called administrative costs are in comparison to North Township. I want to know how many take home cares they have and why it's necessary to really have take home cares. Any cuts should be made in the administrative areas and not in the areas of relief. Also, what is Calumet doing to get their recipients off of assistance? Probably nothing at all considering they believe it's a way of life. I'm tired of hearing Mary Elgin saying they have cut their administrative costs, that's the biggest joke of all

- Hey NWI Times don't you ever proof read before you publish an article. In the above article you stated "Hodge died at the scene, officials said." , Now last time I checked it was Hodge who was at large and it was Griffin who died on the scene. The perfect solution to this problem is to do exactly what they did in Chicago with the projects, TEAR DOWN DELANY, its breeding ground for all possible types of criminals.

- I was just wondering was the NWI times at the same meeting I was at, they failed to mention in this article another very important bill that effects all the communities that receive benefits from the Casinos and that is SB528. The NWI Times must have ignored the information that was given about SB528 and how the state is trying to get out of paying their fair share

- Deb's Gun Range, Really the last place I would go considering all the gang banger wannibes go to this range. A number of my friends in law enforcement let me know about that place and told me to stay far far away.

- I'm not going to give this new company any breaks. The first day of pick-up in the new year they didn't even pick-up a complete neighborhood. Although everyone complained about Allied Waste, at least on their first day of a new contract all the garbarge got picked up.

- They would stop calling you if the Administration would have given out the number for citizens to call. There still has not been a complete communication to city residents about who to call if they have issues with waste management. Get a life and do your job, too bad you feel that you are bothered when you get a call from a citizen. I have an idea instead of complaining why don't you do a little customer service and give them the CORRECT number to call !!!!!!!

- I'm curious about how many people who are rushing to buy a firearm have ever had a weapon in their life, let along know who to use it. I wouldn't be surprised if these purchases are by a large number of people who will never go to a range or get some training. Just because you have a gun doesn't mean you will know how to use it???? As I responsible gun owner I want to see more education for gun owners. Try to find a course or a qualified instructor in this part of the county!!!!

- Although Miller may be this diverse community it is not what is used to be. We see more and more individuals moving here because they got a steal on some lakefront property. These type of individuals could care less about this community and definitely don't want to get involved in the community. We also have long time members of our community that don't want to get involved until something directly affects their little piece of the pie. I wish people would step out of their little bubbles and take a look around our community and realize this is not the picture perfect area that some want you to believe.

- Take a look at where this guy lives which is East of I65 and ask yourself what was he doing on the other side of the City. We all know what he was doing, sounds just like the recent shooting in Aetna where the guy was gunned down. Sorry to say it at least he was shot West of I65 and not on our side of I65
