- Same thing happened to me and that was over 3 years ago! My bridesmaids paid half up front, but they could use check or credit card. They did not receive the dresses until 2 weeks before my wedding. (They still needed to be altered.) On the rare occasion that she was there, I kept getting the run-around. The dresses were on a shipping dock in China. Whatever. Lesson learned.
