  1. This is pretty funny. Does anyone take this seriously?

  2. OMG. This is great! Two pieces of White Trailer Trash from Portage - that's Porter County for all of your crackers - gettin' in to it over some piece of white trailer trash. And you people constantly belittle Gary. Now I agree, Gary is pretty pathetic - but what makes you trailer trash folk in Portage any better? This is PROOF positive that you ain't. Furthermore, what's uglier than white trailer trash from Portage?

  3. Hey Mr. Water Expert?
If you are correct, how do you explain Michigan? The State is surrounded on 3 sides by water. Stand anywhere in the State and you're no more than 6 kilometers from a natural water source - yet, the State is a basket case and Detroit is dead or dying. I think Mr. Expert needs to rethink.
By the way, I am from Northwest Indiana and I have taken hundreds of thousands of dollars out of Northwest Indiana and out of Ohio and shipped it all to my business in Bloomington, Indiana. Go figure...

  4. The solution is simple: combine IUN and PUC. Stop trying to support these ridiculous outreach centers. Close 'em down. If you can't sell 'em, mothball 'em. Cut, chop, cut, cut cut.

PUC is top heavy with administrators. Their salaries are incredible. They have Deans on top of Deans.

IUN has a bloated payroll too with Assistant Deans, Associate Deans, Deans, Vice Chancellors, Chancellors. I kid you not. There are 5 or 6 sets of administrative levels. I mean come on. Are you people stupid or what? You're the ones paying the taxes and tuition to support this lunacy. Just make it IUPU-Northwest and an entire group of bloated, fatheaded administors can be lopped off at the knees. Personally, I wouldn't care if it were the IUN group or the PUC group, but one of 'em HAS to go!

  5. This is truly amazing. I pull over $100,000/year out of Lake County in salary and then I SPRINT. I do not pass "Go." I do not "Collect $200." I SPRINT out of Lake County and spend all of that money in another Indiana County that is listed in blue but is NOT located in Northwest Indiana, Northern Indiana or Northeast Indiana. I've been doing this for 25 years now and amassed $5,000,000 of income property.
Unless or until Lake County can get its act together, I don't see how things are going to change. Yes, knocking down some buildings in Gary frees up some space but beyond that, what good does it do?

  6. The fire looked very suspicious to me. It wasn't just burning. It was raging. Initially, I thought maybe a gas storage tank had exploded. It certainly seems possible that one or more of the destitute owners of that block of crappy businesses had reason, means and access to burn the place down. Not saying that's what happened. Just saying it should be investigated.
The NWI glass company was on its last legs. The Tae Kwon Do chop chop shop had long since closed down. The recycling shop is the place where it all happened, right? It wasn't much of a place, was it? The only business that I wanted to patronize was the massage parlor located at one time several block south. It was called "The East China Sea" or some such. What happened to that store? Now there was an establishment worth saving!
    G'day!

  7. I don't understand why the IU Foundation cannot "kick in" some money here. According to the Foundation's website, "As of June 30, 2012, the market value of IU’s endowment totaled $1.57 billion." Spend some of this money on rebuilding IU. Problem solved. What the heck else are they doing with the money?

  8. I agree with GaryGirl. I am an Indiana landlord. I own a whole lot of investment property in Indiana (more than 20 buildings, less than 40). Indiana screws its landlords. We don't qualify for 1. homeowners exemptions, 2. mortgage exemptions. Still, Indiana is better than Illinois which is so corrupt that it's even worse than Lake County. My point is, everyone must pay property taxes. I would include the Catholic Church in this one. The clergy abuses little boys. Now shouldn't someone pay, pay, pay?

  9. OMG. You've got to love it. Enrollments are UP, UP, UP! Does anyone really believe what they read in the papers?
First, let me say that I just don't get this guy's first name. Is it Mike? Is it Michael? What's the deal with "Micah"? I have never heard of such a thing. "Micah Pollak?" With all due respect to our Polish brethren - who are some of the hardest working, finest people in this nation - who names their kid "Micah Pollak"? Why would IUN hire him? Where is that complete idiot Donald Coffin? That guy was an even bigger dope than Micah. Are you people crazy or what? I'd suggest changing the name to something the rest of us can deal with. What's wrong with "Michael Pollak"? We all love Polish people. What kind of an economist is name "Micah"? Does this stuff glitter or something?
